Course Description
First molars with poor long-term prognosis present a common clinical challenge. This course will cover when first molar extractions may be the most strategic option and how orthodontic intervention can support optimal outcomes. We'll explore how coordinated treatment planning can reduce or even eliminate the need for complex future restorative work, improve occlusion, and enhance long-term oral health.
Course Objectives
1. Identify clinical indicators that suggest poor long-term prognosis for first molars and when extraction may be the most appropriate treatment option.
2. Recognize age-related timing considerations for optimal orthodontic intervention following molar extraction.
3. Understand the role of orthodontic treatment in managing spaces resulting from first molar extractions to support functional and esthetic outcomes.
4. Collaborate effectively with orthodontists to create comprehensive treatment plans that minimize the need for future restorative interventions.
Don't miss this chance to connect with your fellow dentists and contribute to the future of our profession.
